I've always liked the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. On the one hand, because their songs had melodies that you could sing along to the second time you heard them. On the other hand, I like the voice of Tom P. His singing may seem unspectacular at first glance. Not bombastic, like Freddy M., or rocky, like Joe C., but honest and melodious in a very specific way. But the most important thing for me is that I have the same vocal range as Tom P. It was only a matter of time before I would do a cover of one of their songs. Karsten agreed. I wanted to make the playback a bit more rocky and bass-driven, but Karsten put a spoke in my wheel. His argument was that if my vocals sound so similar to Tom P., then we might as well try to get as close as possible to the original sound. I agreed with him and Karsten did everything he could to create another perfect mix. But maybe I'll do a reprise, a short instrumental with a different musical playback, we´ll see. ;-))
