The original song by the band “Blind Faith” (1969) was written in „D“ major. Steve sings it in falsetto. In 1974, eric clapton had left the band in the meantime, Steve, as a guest singer, accompanied Clapton at a concert in madison square garden and the song was presented one tone lower in „C“ major. Maybe to give Eric the chance to sing along with the chorus;-)) Joe Cocker, and many others have covered the song, why shouldn't I try it too. I based my arrangement on clapton's live version, but took on the challenge of singing the song in D major with my normal voice and was curious to see if my 70+ year old vocal chords would still be up to it.
